Image Furniture is a second generation family run furniture store.  We have a passion for quality furniture.  We pride ourselves on providing the best quality, comfortable and stylish furniture.  We are proud to offer beautiful, locally crafted Australian timber furniture which we custom make to order, as well as offering the internationally acclaimed LaZBoy brand.

Cosmo, the father of Image Furniture, has been in the furniture business for over 45 years.  He is well known and respected in the furniture industry.  Before his first child was born, he ran Sunshine Disposals in the early 70's.  With over 20 employees, this business thrived out in Melbourne's west.  He then opened Moonee Mart on Holmes Road in Moonee Ponds.  For over 20 years Moonee Mart was a local institution, it sold almost everything you needed for you home or office.  Lino, banquet seating, lounges, wardrobes, carpets and rugs.  These were the days before Sunday trading, and the family would have Cosmo home on Sundays for picnics at Brimbank Park.  In the mid 90's an opportunity came his way and Cottage Comfort Preston was born.  This store was a testament to all our local Aussie timber manufacturers.  Everything was Australian made, and of solid timber.  Not melamine or veneer, like the old Moonee Mart and Sunshine Disposal days.  Customers loved it.  To have beautiful solid timber furniture in their homes for generations to come, how could they not.  People came from everywhere to our Preston Cottage Comfort store.  From the country to the peninsula.

Through these years his wife and three children visited, played, and helped out when they were needed, and as the children grew they became more involved in the business.  In 2001, Cosmo was presented with another opportunity.  To take on the younger Cottage Comfort Hoppers Crossing store.  His daughter Danielle and his nephew Adam took on this new venture.  Whilst he and his sister-in-law Trish continued to run the Preston store.  Then in 2006 Cosmo had to have emergency heart surgery, a quadruple by-pass, and a family decision was made to close the Preston store after 11 years.  That same year Cottage Comfort Hoppers Crossing changed it's trading name to Image Furniture, as the furniture style began to change and move away from the "cottage" look to more cleaner lines.  Cosmo's son Damian had always helped in the business over the years, and after returning from working in Germany, joined the business full time, offering his industrial design expertise and experience in store.  Cosmo is still involved in the business as a mentor to his children.
